Broken Violinist

As a college music major, my whole life has revolved in some facet on my violin playing. Although I'm not a great violinist, and I'm not majoring in performance, my violin is a major factor in me going to school.  Another aspect of my college life was finding rugby. If you know anything about rugby you probably assume its a dangerous sport. While that isn't entirely wrong, it's still an unfair assessment. However, I did experience an injury that directly effects my life pretty substantially. I broke 2 metacarpals (finger bones in the palm) on my violin hand. Since my injury I have picked up my violin once. I haven't been able to move my fingers for a few weeks and it has been probably the worst time of my life. In almost every musicians career they have not wanted to practice, and I have been there before. But after losing the ability to do most of the things I enjoy, I desperately want to play my violin again. Every time I here music part of my soul longs to hold m...
